School session kicks off Tuesday (Durant Daily Democrat)

Ethan and Breydon Heflin jump right into learning while visiting their new classroom Thursday at Washington Irving. As Durant students are enjoying the last couple of days of their summer vacations, teachers and faculty members are busy preparing for the new school year, which starts Tuesday.

Mangrum retires from SE (Durant Daily Democrat)

Dr. C.W. Mangrum, who served as dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, will retire July 31. He and his family members greeted friends and faculty members at a retirement party held at the university Wednesday.
